The final comprehensive pessary training programme I will teach.
After more than 25 years working within the pessary industry, developing pessaries, advising manufacturers, teaching clinicians internationally and contributing to award-winning pessary innovations, I have brought together the knowledge, practical experience and problem-solving strategies that have shaped my approach to pessary management.
 

This is not about learning which pessary to put in.

It is about learning to:

• UNDERSTAND THE PATIENT.

• UNDERSTAND THE MECHANICS.
  A pessary may appear to fit perfectly during a static clinical assessment, yet rotate, expel, become uncomfortable or fail when your patient stands up and gets on with her life.
  This training takes you beyond simply matching a prolapse to a pessary.
  You will develop a more structured way of thinking about the patient in front of you, what you are trying to solve, how the pessary behaves and what to consider when the first solution doesn't work.

IS THIS TRAINING FOR YOU?

This training is designed for clinicians and physicians with a good foundation in pelvic floor knowledge who:

• Fit pessaries and want to develop their clinical reasoning and problem-solving skills

• Treat patients with pelvic organ prolapse who use pessaries

• Want greater confidence with difficult or complex presentations

• Want to understand why a pessary succeeds, fails, rotates, causes discomfort or expels

• Want a more systematic approach to assessment, selection, fitting and troubleshooting

• Are considering fitting pessaries and want to build a strong clinical framework before doing so

 

You do not need to be an experienced pessary fitter.
You do need a good foundation in pelvic floor knowledge and an interest in thinking beyond the fitting kit.

THINK BEYOND THE FITTING KIT
ASSESS → UNDERSTAND → SELECT → FIT → TEST → TROUBLESHOOT → MANAGE → REASSESS
The emphasis is on clinical reasoning rather than memorising a catalogue of pessaries.

ASSESSMENT & CLINICAL REASONING

Look beyond prolapse grading to understand the individual patient, her symptoms, anatomy, functional demands and clinical goals.

MECHANICAL THINKING
Understand how different pessary designs interact with anatomy and movement, and consider the mechanical problem you are actually trying to solve.

FITTING & REAL-LIFE TESTING
Explore what happens when the patient stands, walks, coughs, bears down and moves, not simply whether the pessary stays in while she is lying on the examination couch.

TROUBLESHOOTING & COMPLEX CASES
Develop a structured approach to repeated expulsions, discomfort, previous fitting failures and persistent symptoms.

Instead of simply trying another pessary, learn to ask:
Why isn't this strategy working?

FUNCTIONAL SYMPTOMS, PRESSURE & BIOMECHANICS
Explore how symptoms can change when prolapse is reduced, and how pressure, breathing, movement and biomechanics may influence pessary behaviour and the patient's experience.

LONG-TERM MANAGEMENT
The fitting is not the end of the process.
Consider follow-up, tissue health, self-management, troubleshooting and when the current strategy needs to be reassessed.

It is designed to help you think through the clinical problem rather than simply reach for the next pessary in the box.
You will work through real-world case studies, clinical scenarios and problem-solving discussions, with opportunities to examine why a fitting succeeds or fails.

WHY TRAIN WITH ME?
For more than 25 years, I have worked within the pessary industry, developing pessaries, advising manufacturers and contributing to the development of internationally recognised, multi-award-winning pessary innovations.
I am an ex NHS nurse, women's health educator, Biomechanics of Movement Instructor and Advanced Breathing Instructor, with specialist training through internationally recognised organisations.

My expertise extends beyond simply selecting and fitting pessaries.
My approach considers the relationship between the patient, anatomy, movement, pressure, breathing, biomechanics and pessary behaviour.

Because a pessary does not exist in isolation.
A pessary may fit well during a static clinical assessment, yet behave very differently when a patient:
stands • walks • exercises • coughs • bears down • returns to normal daily activities
Understanding those differences can be an important part of solving a fitting that initially appears unsuccessful.
Throughout this training, I will share the practical experience and clinical problem-solving approach developed through more than two decades of working with pessaries.
The aim is not simply to give you more pessary information.
It is to help you think differently about the patient in front of you.
